CISS Hosts National Intelligence Council Chair

Round logo, office of the director of national intelligence, national intelligence councilThe CISS on April 12-13, 2018 hosted a visit by National Intelligence Council (NIC) chair Amy McAuliffe to kick off the Center’s eighth annual ‘Days of Intrigue’ simulation.  Ms. McAuliffe spoke to upperclassmen over a working lunch, addressed members of the University and Oxford communities, and attended the Honors section of “ISS-125: Introduction to Intelligence Studies.”  Her remarks focused on best practices in providing support to national security policymakers, and she offered insights from the many senior leadership positions that she has held at the Central Intelligence Agency and in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.  The NIC supports the DNI in his role as the head of the IC and is the center of the IC’s strategic analytic efforts, providing the President and senior policymakers with National Intelligence Estimates and other products that reflect the coordinated view of the entire IC.
